Good to Know

Frequently asked questions

Who can file a consumer complaint?+

Any "consumer" — anyone who buys goods or avails services for a consideration, for personal use (not for resale or commercial purpose). You can complain about defective goods, deficient services, unfair trade practices or overcharging under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.

Do I have to start with a legal notice?+

It's not mandatory, but it's smart. A professionally drafted legal notice signals you're serious and very often gets a refund or resolution without the time and cost of a full case. If it doesn't work, we file your complaint.

Where is the complaint filed?+

Before the appropriate Consumer Commission, based on the value of your claim — District Commission (up to ₹50 lakh), State Commission (₹50 lakh to ₹2 crore) or National Commission (above ₹2 crore). Complaints can be filed online via the e-Daakhil portal.

Is there a time limit?+

Yes — a consumer complaint must generally be filed within 2 years from the date the cause of action arises. The sooner you act, the stronger your case.

What can I get out of it?+

Depending on your case, the Commission can order a refund, replacement, removal of the defect, discontinuation of an unfair practice, and compensation or damages for the loss and harassment you suffered.

Why is case filing event-based and not a fixed price?+

Cases vary a lot — the forum, claim value, evidence and number of hearings all differ. So after a quick assessment we give you a clear, scoped quote, with hearing/representation handled on an event basis. The Consultation & Legal Notice plan is a flat ₹2,499 + taxes.

Don't let them get away with it. Fight back today.
